Have you had a look at Family Search for free BMD certificates yet?:

Some examples:

Renatus Van Laere BC  25 Apr 1890 Kaprijke -: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-LB2H-RY9?i=162 (#25)

Renatus and his extended family (grandparents, siblings) in the 1881-1890 Kaprijke Population Register: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSYT-Z9T2-R?i=527

These registers tells you about the BMD data and movements of the people at a specific address in that period:
e.g.
It tells you that #9, #10, #11, #12 are Renatus’ siblings
Father Joannes/Jan Baptiste (#4) an agricultural labourer was born on 12 Sep 1854 in “Caprycke”. He married Emma BOGAERT (#8) on 21 Nov 1883 who was born on 20 Apr 1863 in Eeclo. She came to Kaprijke in 1878.
This info helps you to find their 1883 MC: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-8B2H-T66?i=29 (#13). This MC confirms that Joannes/Jean Baptiste (#1) born abt 1800 in “Caprycke” and Marie Caroline (#2) b 1829 in St Laureyns are Renatus’ grandparents

FYI The grandparents’ 1852 marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GG89-9RX1?i=25 (#10). This certificate mentions that Joannes was born on something like the “eersten Nivôse jaer tien der fransch. Republiek”. This would be 21 Dec 1801 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Republican_calendar)

BTW If you'd had a good look at Renatus' father on that geneanet link (https://gw.geneanet.org/wwalgraeve?lang=en&p=joannes+baptiste&n=van+laere), you might have noticed a link to a Family Search tree: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/G8SB-LFS

This tree does not seem to have the first 3 links that I'd previously given, but it does have the 1852 marriage of Renatus' grandparents as a source for these 2 individuals. And, there are a lot more sources for you to look at (although I can see that some sources are missing).

Enjoy

You said that "This certificate mentions that Joannes was born on something like the “eersten Nivôse jaer tien der fransch. Republiek”. This would be 21 Dec 1801"
but that is not correct. 1 Nivôse of Year 10 is the 22th of December 1801, not the 21st. The day differs in the course of the years.
