Sorry I meant his father Thomas.

Thomas's occupation is not one generally held by Jewish workers. It's quite a specialist occuaption, which was carried out in a couple of places on an industrial scale in England and Wales.

Thomas's parents and the family could have been doing waht is decsribed here at Cradley https://www.womenchainmakers.org.uk/chainmaking-in-cradley-heath/

The sosn probably progressed to working at larger works before Thomas re-located to the chain works in Pontypridd https://www.blackcountryhistory.org/collections/getrecord/GB145_p_427

There was a Julius Hiller living a few streets away from Taff street in 1911, he was a sugar boiler, working for a confectionary works. He born in Warbron Germany (no such place so could be Warburg). Maybe he worked for the Gazes.

Could be Charles was a chain maker before he became a confectioner, he worked in Krupp steel before the 1930s
