His first son is John Reid (1781), then James Reid (1788), then William Reid (1789). These three didn’t have the mother listed, but he was a laborer at a specific estate and that is listed on the birth records.

His death certificate says his father was a farm laborer at Easterhouse which was true. He was also a laborer at Barrachnie. Both of which in Old Monkland Parrish nearby each other.

The first three baptism docs say the same thing.

In your other thread you say there was a John born first and that you've seen his baptism info that lines up with that of the next two children James and William...

What about that John?

I probably shouldn’t be doing research first thing in the morning.

I forgot about John. He is first. LOL

Having duplicate threads is not a good idea in the first place, but when the duplicate threads have conflicting information it makes it extremely difficult to work out what's happening.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

It's okay  , I read it before I was caffinated.

Just to recap... do you have clues that tie the William Reid of the first 3 births (John, James , William) with the father of the later children starting with Alexander?

It's not really okay because we are now getting potentially conflicting information in two different threads running in parallel.
