Ahoy there!
I am trying to research my great-great grandad, James Alphonsus Murphy who was born in Maynooth, Kildare about 1825.
I know nothing more then this, not his parents or siblings, I know he moved with his wife Jane Flannery, to Bath in England and become a teacher, he died in 1877, from then on I know most things.

But, how do I research to find his parents and siblings? I have tried most websites and joined a lot of FB pages but with no luck....

I know he is probably recorded as just James Murphy, to make things more difficult, as James Murphy is quite a common name!

But any information or links would be much appreciated

Thanks!

B
