Hi Heywood,
Thank you for all your help so far and everyone else, thank you.

Just had a reply back from the USA, appently Douglas was billited with Dr Fletcher when he arrived back in England was evacuated from the front lines in Germany.

The lady in question talked to Edith Anne, known as Anne to her before she passed away. Still waiting for some more info. She does not know if Edith Anne Fletcher married later or not.

I think this may be her

There is a death for George Edward in 1996, Leigh

I think this might be her birth entry

Edith Anne Fletcher was single at the time of the twins birth in 1947, However, all we know is that her father was a Doctor who was looking after Douglas L Cartlidge when billited with the Dr and family.

There are, apparently, death notices in The Guardian for the deaths of
Herbert Reeves 1965 and Clara Reeves 1964.
I can’t access them though - they are mentioned in a public tree.

Herbert wasn’t a doctor though, but he was a professional man by the looks of it.

What do you think of the births posted earlier by Cas.

It may be that both those people are still living.

Good point have taken his name off. Maybe no connection to who is being researched

I was thinking the same..maybe not the correct Edith

Been trying to locate electrol for the address given in 1949 it looks well to do given the prices selling today.

The Haven, Jean Avenue Leigh, maybe someone else can find who lived there around 1949.

What birthdate for Edith do you have?

Also the last country of permanent residence was Canada,
could the boys have been born there?

Opps wrong rechecked states England

The Reeves may be quite close by in 1939 but their road could be a long one.

The Edith A Reeves found by Cas in 1939 intimates whilst seemingly she married a Fletcher I believe may have gone  on to marry/live with a Mr Allen.
