As to George's Death, he was alive in the 1871 census, and not showing as deceased in Alice's Marriage cert in 1876.

Possibly/probably (Bloomfield/Flatt):

Marriage of Eliza and George:
Parish Register: 31 July 1855 - Syleham, Suffolk
George Bloomfield of age bachelor occ lab res Syleham father Stephen Bloomfield occ lab
Eliza Flatt of age spinster res Syleham father Thomas Flatt occ lab
Witness: Betsy Richards - Witness: James Blois


That does look likely - somehow Flatman turns into Flatt!

Possibly that is down to the hearing of the Parish Clerk Mabel?
