May need to get a copy of the marriage certificate as proof. O'Cain/O'Kane/Cain become more frequent in the area.

John O'Cain marries Angelina Julia Faria 1894

Margaret O'Cain marries Thomas Patey 1892

Sarah Catherine O'Cain marries William Bacon 1896

Still looking for Mary O'Cain born 1877

Article in the Sunderland Daily Echo 29 May 1899 refers to a coroner's inquiry into the death of widow Mary O'Cain. It was a case of accidental burning. " Sarah Bacon, wife of a caulker and,  daughter of the deceased, stated that on the night of the 16th inst, witness was with her mother in the kitchen of their house in George Street".
( The article does give a fair bit of detail regarding the accident).
