Can you give us a clue as to their ages/dates of birth - are they on the 1939 register.

Yes it is -‘Dames’ not Dawes - that’s why I couldn’t find it.

I htink they're using the surname Stanhope (transcribed on Ancestry as Stankope) on 1911. Not sure if if James Robert Stanhope and Margaret Brayshaw married
