Honestly, I just wanted to thank you all for looking into this. I'm always blown away by the witchcraft and wizardry that often happens on this forum and how quickly these records are found (that I've spent a long time pondering and looking for)
I go to work and come back to this.. outstanding!
Do you know how old Ted would have been - and was he Edward Jones?
There's a passenger listing for Miss E Jones, aged 12, Miss K Jones aged 11 and Mr E Jones aged 24 departing Southampton 30 Sep 1920 on the Remuera for Wellington
Also - divorce of Thomas and Flossie Ethel JONES in 1921:

100% the people I'm looking for, it's great to know that he emigrated in 1912. I had found Flossie in the 1921 census, living with her brother in Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. Also living with her is her 4 year old daughter, Gertrude Mary Radford Jones!
I recently came across a picture of my x3 great grandparents ....
That's the last I know anything about Tom, Ethel and Katie.
Hello Zakerias
Just curious ....
Q. Which of Thomas JONES' two children (Ethel / Katie) do you descend from ??
[Did the daughter Katie (Catherine), return to England at some point to live ?? ]
~ Lu
Hi Lucy, I don't descend from either. Thomas's parents were my x3 great grandparents. This research is primarily to back up the annotation on the photo - which appears to be 100% correct.
I have no idea about either of the daughters, however, it may be worth noting that in the picture there was only one girl - the picture date is just given as "1921", the ship departed on Sept 30 1920 (no idea how long ship journeys all that way and back were). Perhaps one came back and one stayed? Maybe the photo was taken on return? I can confirm that neither Kate or Ethel were living with Edmund & Elizabeth at the time of the 1921 census. I can't find Edmund (the son) or either girl on the census, so may be they are still in New Zealand?
