You don't need to cudgel your brains trying to decipher a poor image. On the SP web site, you can request a re-scan of an unclear image by using the orange button labelled 'Report an issue' at upper right, and then selecting 'Image or index issue'. They will then send you a legible version of the image.
As for where he was from, the fact that there is a death certificate means that he lived past the 1851 census. Find him in that and it will tell you where he said he was born.
He is likely to be the one in the 1851 census at Achnahanat, Kincardine, age given as 59, born Kincardine, with daughter Janet, 19. If so, you are not going to find a baptism record as the parish register of Kincardine has no entries earlier than 1804.
I see that his wife was Ann Mackay and thay they had at least six children: John, Isobel, Christy, Catherine, and two Janets. If (and it's a big if because there is no daughter Ann listed) they followed the naming tradition you'd expect Charles' parents to be John and Christian.
Probably a very long shot, but if any of the earliest recorded baptisms in Kincardine were to parents residing in Achnahannet, they might be related and you might be able to piece something together that way.
