Harry Fathers - WWI
« on: Tuesday 07 November 23 18:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi all.

I am researching the life of my 1st cousin 3x removed, Harry Fathers, who died o n 5th July 1917.

I have his military records and census records, but cannot find a birth record for Harry.

The 1911, 1901 and 1891 censuses all have Harry as born 1885 in Kiveton Park, but I can't find a birth record to back this up.

I would like a copy of his birth certificate.

Believe Harry was born prior to his mother's marriage in 1886 to Henry Emmerson Father.

Brilliant Research!!!

I'm seeing more and more when Births can't be found the answer is they go through Life using their Known As Name and not their Birth Name Registered as in this case.

You can see from 1891 census that the family are in the household of a Joseph Hickling/Hicklin, probably Elizabeth's parents.
