Horace Prescott Edge 1844
« on: Wednesday 08 November 23 14:17 GMT (UK) »
Horace was born in Ormskirk, Lancashire, England in 1844 to James Edge and Hannah Prescott.  He went on to become a vicar and attended Oxford University in 1865.  Can anyone point me in the right direction to perhaps find more detailed information including his death.
Many thanks
RodE

Searching FreeBMD from 1860 to 1950, the only death with middle initial 'P', and the only one that was born anywhere near 1844, is Horace P Edge, Mar qtr 1916 in the Hartlepool district, aged 71 (Ref. 10a 164).
Researching among others:

Just to confirm arthurk's response - GRO website confirm that the 1916 death registration is for Horace Prescott Edge.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
