Bookmarks Bar on Chrome

[Girl Guide]

It seems that Chrome has been 'updating' the look of their page. I now have all my bookmarks in  grey and is okay but harder on the eyes to see.

Trying to find out how to make them easier to see. I didn't get anywhere doing a Google search.  Not super technically minded!

Below is what I see now.  Can someone tell me how to get the folders to be coloured and maybe the writing bigger?  Many thanks.  Below is what I see now.:-

Your Google Chrome theme is most likely the problem.
To change your theme, go to chrome://settings/  - you do this by entering that phrase in the box at the top of the screen where you would enter a website address.

Click return and scroll down to "Themes" in the Appearance section.

Click the button "Reset to Default" to get back your default white appearance or install another theme from the Chrome Web Store.

I see a 'Customise Chrome' at bottom right. It might have an option that helps.

The bar is now all white and I can see the words for each file.
