1901 census Lanarkshire -  Edith E CRAVEN age 18   ref  648/ 5/ 6
Edith is recorded as born in England
Her father is Alfred Godding CRAVEN – a drill instructor with the Yeomanry, born abt 1850 England
Quite a lot of siblings with her - some born in Ireland, some in England, some in Scotland
Looking at the Scottish births, seems the mother’s maiden name was TAYLOR

The 1891 census has the CRAVEN family in Lesmahagow
It shows a 27 year old servant named Alice Taylor in the house
No wife for Alfred Godding Craven
Edith here is recorded with surname Taylor as "adopted"

Looking at Irish births and 1881 census in Aldershot
Alfred Godding CRAVEN’s wife was Maria TAYLOR
Can’t see her after 1881 census

Craven and Taylor married 1873 Ipswich, Suffolk
