Murphy and Nunan / Noonan of Kilnahone Killanully
« on: Friday 10 November 23 22:19 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the family of a Johana Keeffe (c 1828-1898) and Thomas Murphy married about 1855-1860 with at least one son, Michael Thomas Murphy supposedly born in 1863 and emigrated to Boston in 1883.  Johana was first married to a David Nunan / Noonan in 1844 with whom she had several children, including at least: Denis 1845, Mary 1849, William abt 1854, David 1855.  David and Johana's children were baptized in Kinsale and Clontead / Ballymartle parishes.  Some time later they relocated to the area south of Cork city between Toher and Carrigaline.  In Griffiths Valuation there was a David Nunan living adjacent to a Michael Murphy in the townland of Kilnahone.  I am exploring the theory that this is Johana's husband David and possibly future father-in-law, or other future in-law, Michael Murphy.  There is some evidence that Johana and/or David also had connections in the vicinity of Ballinhassig.
