Thanks Sue, John Coward was Ann's Father. He ran the mill at Skelwith Bridge. His Son had the Skelwith Bridge Inn, Hare & Hounds, now Skelwith Bridge Hotel. The children in question were probably his Grandchildren? As for the James, it could be him? Maybe that's why on Ann's death certificate it says he was a wool carder. I'm still trying to find whereabouts Ann was buried, no luck so far!!

I have just found the James Birkett, Tanner of Cockermouth on the 1841 Census and it's not the James I am looking for unfortunately. This one is married to a Mary and has different children!! Thanks anyway.
