Update on this Soldier
Found his WW1 Medal Cards and Silver War Badge Card  Discharged 1919 on Disability so unlikely to have served in WW2
The Regts he served in do not match the Collar Badge in the Photo
I put this to the Family that presents a Problem as to who it is.
Their answer was they assumed it was him found in the Family Records so it could be any Relative or friend

No, that cap is WW2,ordinary soldiers wore a peaked cap in WW1.
Bring up some WW1 photos and you will see what I mean.
Now that is Officers headwear, and ordinary ranks wear berets.
By the grenades on his collar he was possibly a Grenadier.
Someone with more knowledge will be more accurate.
Viktoria.

Just for your Future Knowledge

Your Incorrect Statement that Caps was Only WW2 and Peak Cap was Only WW1

For clarity the Field Service cap was introduced 1896 and largely replaced in 1903 by the peak less 'Brodrick' cap.  This was replaced circa 1906 by the peaked cap which was worn in WW1.

The Territorials were slow to change so the picture of it being worn alongside the peaked cap at a pre war camp.  However by 1914 the peaked cap was universally worn by all (less Scots etc).

However the FSC was worn by the RFC in WW1.

In 1939-40 the introduction of Battledress saw the reintroduction of a khaki FSC.  Coloured versions were often worn in best walking out dress.
