Google Play - 'Pending...'

I tried to update Whatsapp last week via Play Store but all I got was 'Pending'. After a few tries, I found that all the other apps updates gave the same. Internet searches suggested that this was quite common and various solutions were suggested, I've tried them all (apart from deleting data) but I still get the continuous 'Pending'.

Has anyone got any other solutions, please?

I'm planning to upgrade my phone but I'd like to get this to work before I do.

It does seem to be a very long running issue without a definitive solution.

I’d try deleting the Play data, and restarting the mobile.

Have you checked that the free storage capacity is enough.

Many years ago before I moved over to Apple devices my Android phone was always having to have its memory reset, not sure if this is still an issue but perhaps worth checking out.

General advice for any misbehaving App.   In this case Google Play.
Go to Settings/Apps and select the App
Hit Force Stop.
Hit Clear Cache - not Clear Data
Reboot the device.
Try again.

Have you also tried rebooting your router?

I only get the pending on the one phone. The other phone is fine.

I'm going to get a replacement on Monday/Tuesday.

Even so, try rebooting the router. In my experience, that sometimes fixes probelm that a device reboot does not fix.
