Chritine Dunn is a widow
Husband is Philip Dwyer - Paynter of St George Hanover Sq
I don’t see any witness names recorded

I assume his occupation was a painter (paynter)
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

No witnesses recorded as it was a clandestine marriage or "Fleet Marriage"

Thanks Neale & Maddy,

I was hoping the husband may have been an Alexander Forbes. Their daughter Margaret was christened on 18 January, 1769 at Saint Mary Matfelon, Stepney. I believed Christian's surname was 'Dunn' but now I seriously doubt that assumption! I cannot recall where I obtained that surname now. I will now turn to discovering who and where Alexander married! Cheers, Rob

You possibly know already, when Margaret was baptised  her parents abode is given "Roadside" (as are many others in the Register). Does this mean they were living on the streets, or is "Roadside" an actual place?

When her sister Christian was baptised on 18 Nov 1770, they were in Catherine Wheel Alley.

Will do a bit more hunting.  :D

Their daughter Margaret was christened on 18 January, 1769 at Saint Mary Matfelon, Stepney.

In case you're not aware, St Mary Matfelon is just an old name for the parish church of St Mary Whitechapel.

'Roadside' is used to refer to parts of Whitechapel Road. It doesn't mean they were living rough. For more information on Roadside, see the reply from Tower Hamlets Local History Library to an earlier question, quoted here...

That's good to know, thanks Bookbox. I thought it most likely a place, rather than homelessness, as there were so many in the Register.
