Marriage - Esther Adams Wells

Hi,

Esther was born 7 January 1873 at Greenock West, Renfrewshire, the daughter of James Wells and Ellen Adams.

The censuses show she was living in England with husband Walter Adams Barefoot and records suggest they married c1894/95. Their first child was born in Oxfordshire (around 1895) and subsequently other children were born in the London area (which was also Walters place of birth).

By the 1901 census Walter was in the Navy, however, cannot find any trace of a marriage in England and wondered if they actually may have married in Scotland, before moving to England.

Any ideas?
