Did you manage to get further back than John Milligan (1701) ?

Many thanks

Hi Scottie. We share Milligan ancestors.
No, I have not been able to go back with any certainty (records of proof) beyond John Milligan (1702-1787) and Margaret McMin.

However, Janet’s Lawrie’s family line can be traced back about another 4 generations.

The Milligan tree (as I have it at this point in time) is extremely large and sprawling – apart from your Liverpool branch, there was another branch went to Maryport Cumbria. Then there are other branches sprawling across the world – USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
That was why I asked you to be specific about what information you were searching for.

I am directly descended from William Milligan’s oldest son, John (1775-1835).

You should have enough posts now to use the PM (personal message) system if you wish to.
