Thanks cd it’s so frustrating and costly!!
Just be glad it's only £1.50 lost.

Imagine how much more costly it would be if you had to pay for certificates from England, or Australia, to name but two :)
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Some of the transcripts are on ancestry
Have you checked that the boys weren't living with McCormick relatives in 1891

I notice the family had Michael McCormick a labourer age 66 living with them in 1871

Was he  Mary's father ? (2nd son named after him ) .

Hi Kim

Son William born 1859, looks to have married Elizabeth McKinnon in 1882 in Old Kilpatrick, Dunbarton (ref 501 / 53).

I think this is them in 1891:

William Clark 32 Rivetter b. Glasgow
Elizabeth Clark 32 b. Glasgow
Ellen Clark 7 b. Old Kilpatrick, Yoker
Robert Clark 7 b. Old Kilpatrick
Alexander Clark 3 b. Glasgow
William Clark 5 months b. Glasgow

Address 9 Lyon Street , Glasgow/Milton

By 1911, the family look to be in Ireland. Address showing as 118 East Bread Street (Pottinger (part of), Down. See www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai002198812/

From the family's entry in 1911 and going by the birth places and ages for the younger children, the Clarks look to have been in Ireland pre 1901.

The family are not easy to find so far in 1901!

This looks to be the youngest's birth, Isabella, in 1902 on the Irish registers. If you haven't viewed images on there before, just add your name, tick the box for agree and the captcha box https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1902/01925/1745797.pdf

Also, daughter Ruth's entry in 1896 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1896/02153/1816775.pdf
