Frank Ancill 1877 to 1921?

The answer to CaroleW's 2nd question is yes I now believe they were separated. His details on the 1911 Census have been crossed out and a comment 'now living in Birmingham' entered and his wife is shown as 'Head'.
If the death date is 1927 why do the marriage certificates, 1922 & 1925, show that Frank Ancill is 'deceased'?

Just noticed the name on the 1927 death has been changed from Ansell to Ancill so thought I would double check

There is an 1876 birth in Warwickshire for a Frank Ewan Ansell & he is a boarder in Staffs in 1911 but he only died in 1956

His children were quite young in 1911 & depending on how long they had been apart they could have been even younger when the marriage broke down. 

If they had no contact with him they may have been told he was dead.  Is his wife in Middlesex in 1921?

No info, as yet, on the 1921 location. The 1901 Census shows Frank's occupation as a cycle finisher, again the surname has been transcribed as ANCELL. in 1911 there is a Frank Ancell visiting a Arthur Sarsons and the visitor's occupation is Cycle Mechanic. Another person in the house is Harry Ancell and Frank had an older brother, Harry. Hopefully that now helps me, Ancell or Ancill?
I like your line of thinking CaroleW on the daughters and possible being told their father is dead. I will get info on the 1921 Census.

Update - It's 1921 & Frank is now living in a suburb of Birmingham but not with Annie Arthur, his first wife. The person he is living with is also named Annie and they have a son. He married his second Annie in 1927 so it is presumed that he was divorced from Annie Arthur, or was he!! We may never know & obviously he wasn't dead when his first daughter married in 1921 although the marriage certificate says otherwise.

Some family trees on Anc have his first wife Annie Arthur marrying Henry William Goodwin in 1928 as below which is not far off the time her first husband remarried (Henry William Goodwin was b 1880 in Coventry if you want to look for him in 1921)  But you probably have this already

Also a possible second child born to the marriage to Annie Price in the September qtr 1927 - Ansell/Price

Can we rule out this death. This Frank Ancill appears in 1927-31 Birmingham Electoral Registers & 1939 register  with Lillian May and dies 1941 aged 51. Also a newspaper article about his death. No found marriage to Lillian May. I know the age is 13 years out. Also a probate record for him.

Added, believe Frank and Lillian May had a daughter Lillian E Ancill in 1928 ( died 1932) Her mmn Sheldon.
