A guess, the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, with the Essex Yeomanry as a second guess.

Apparently Fred Chapman was Essex Yeomanry but after WW1 when he was with the King's Own Royal Lancaster

Cheers for your Input

100% Essex Yeomanry especially with the leather bandolier for mounted troops.

The post WW1 RAOC collar badge had scroll below it where as the pre war badge was a shield..

I should add that the photo is likely to be pre 1921 as they became gunners wearing RA grenade collars then.

see here  https://www.essexmilitarybadges.uk/essex-yeomanry-yeomen-and-gunners/

Cheers alano

The Family have this Photo claiming him with note on the Rear of the Photo 1 June 1916
But as 244507 King's Own Royal Lancaster during the War
He appears to have entered the Essex Yeomanry after the War ?

Just a thought.

If he was in The Essex Yeomanry after WW1, the photo appears to show his having no medal ribbons, which seems incongruous. Unless he did not serve overseas during WW1, which could be a possibility. Does his Service Record show any medals awarded ?
(1) Janions of Cheshire, Lancashire, Hawaii, Vancouver and Seattle.
(2) Gregorys of Tarporley, Cheshire.
(3) Pughs of 'The New Pale' near Frodsham and Delamere in Cheshire.
(4) Nevills of Llanelly, Llangennech and Felinfoel.
(5) Yaldens of Ovington/Lovington in Hampshire.

If Medals were sent in 1920
when were the Ribbons sent ?

The Medals the Family have are these Two so he was not in the Essex Yeomanry in WW1
