Richard James (Dowsey) Williams, Lucindale, South Australia

Hello to you all,               

 I really only wanted to tell you of my research and hurdles re my father in law, Richard Williams.   
 He was born 13 October 1923 at the Ballarat Children's Home to Violet Agnes Goodridge. She had been married to 1. George Henry Dowsey (who died in 1919), married  2. Richard Dennett 1931 and he died in 1934.     

There was no father listed at the birth.         
 Hubby did a DNA test  for me to try to trace him.          On the 23 June 1924 Richard was unofficially adopted by Frederick Lancelot Williams and his wife, Victoria Lilly Eliza May Rowett, From Boyeo, Vic.           

The DNA proved unsuccessful in tracing his father, even with the help of 2 search angels.                               It has been a headache trying to follow it all.   

How did Violet (Aggie) know Frederick Lancelot Williams???   Cannot find a connection. I wondered if it was through the war but they were not in the same Battalion.
Violet was from Bendigo and Eaglehawk, so fairly close.
Is Frederick the father?

Hello garstonite!
No, I wasn't aware of his first marriage and the name Jelbart jumped out at me. That name is in the dna matches!
I am, at the moment, down the paddock feeding horses, so will check that all out on my desktop a bit later.

Out of interest, the obit says her father was George JELBART, however the Victorian BDM has her birth in 1877, parents William and Nancy.

Other children to the couple seem to be:
