Hi
Had a look at John Rigby Fisher  and have got him back to some Rigbys in Hornchurch.
John Rigby Fisher b c 1801 mentioned in his father Nicholas Fisher's Will 1835
Mother Jane Rigby married Nicholas Fisher 4.3.1790 St Andrew Hornchuch.
Grand parents John Rigby married Frances Higgs St Donis Backchurch 3.4.1766 London
Their children were baptised at Hornchurch-
Mary 1 July 1766 latter Smith ,Jane 1 May 1768 latter Fisher ,Augusta 1 Jan 1770 -18.7.1813  ,Suky /Susanna  9 June 1771 ,John Brown 24 Aug  1773 -1.3.1774 ,John Steward 28 May  1776 -29.7.1807 ,William Higgs 8 Oct 1777 -24 Oct 1777.
By 1791 and his PCC Will only five children were mentioned Mary ,Jane,John Steward ,Augusta and Susanna  which may help.

They like surnames as middle names and I would be looking at one of their children  as William and John's father.

Thank you so much,
John Reynell Rigby's son was baptised John HIGGS Rigby, so Higg's must've come from Frances Higgs. Will try and find out which one is William's Dad now... and why he is Reynell not Rigby.
Thanks again!  :)

To complete the info, Suky Rigby married William Barker in 1796 (transcribed as Lukey on Ancestry)

Mary (Rigby) Smith, relict of John a butcher, died in 1859, her age given as 97.  She's described as daughter of the late John Steward Rigby of Hornchurch Hall

I've tried to find out more about Hornchurch Hall. There's mention of a Richard Spencer living there in 1750, then it jumps to the early 19th century when the Rev James Bearblock is in residence

Ooh - just found the will of an Augusta Rigby of Hornchurch who died in 1813, leaving all her estate etc. to her children Charles, John, George and William. from what I can decipher some or all of them are under 21 at that time.

She seems to match the daughter of John & Frances. So where do the children come from? Is there a liaison with a Mr Reynell, and some of the children take his surname?  Or are they adopted by the Reynells after Augusta dies?

I thought it worth looking into the sole executor of her will, whose name appears to be William Sacket. He died in 1819, intestate, resulting in her will having to be resworn.

There is a William Sackett baptised in Hornchurch in 1769 - he is the son of Henry and Martha, nee Higgs

So presumably a relative

Thank you Mabel!
Looks like Augusta was definitely their mum, maybe I'll buy William Reynell and Marianne Wale's marriage record as can't think of another way to find out the father. Even if the Reynell's did adopt them it seems they would have been illegitimate anyway due to having Augusta's surname.

Just wondering, has anyone found any record of the other brothers Charles and George? Would be interesting to see if they were Rigby or Reynell.
Thanks again,  :)
