We don't know if Brewer was her maiden name or a married name.

Is Elizabeth the one who married William DEW?  Son Henry's birth reg. gives her maiden surname as BREWER.

On a totally off topic point I lived at number 12 Brookleaze Buildings for a few months in the late 1960s. I had no idea the houses were that old.  Brookleaze Buildings is in a part of Bath known as Larkhall, and its parish church is St Saviours, located only a few hundred yards from Brookleaze Buildings. In contrast St John the Baptist in Batheaston is well over mile away. I've just checked and it's clear that St Saviours was in existence in 1862, having been built 30 years before.

I don't know anything about Elizabeth whatsoever. Only that I now know she lived in Marlborough when George Allen was baptized.

I cannot find them on the 1871 census. George Allen Brewer is living in portchester in 1881, and I have each census from there onwards.
But nothing as I say in 71.

Think I may still be at a dead end with this sadly

I have looked at the electoral register for as close to 1862 as I can, and the census for that address, but the name of the person who lived there means nothing to me. I wonder if they were a family friend?? Be interested to see where they came from, but I'm not on ancestry at the moment.

He married 29 Oct 1887 to Emily Jane Ferris at South Broom, Wiltshire.  He named his father as George Allen Brewer so presumably just used his own names again

Yes I've got that record...strange he put George Allen for father's name. He did marry Ann hillier before Emily Ferris. I'd like to get that marriage cert to see what he put for father's name

This is the Elizabeth I was looking at.

Elizabeth BREWER
Marital Status    Single
Age    31
Marriage Date    21 Nov. 1869
Marriage Place    Southampton, Hampshire, England
Father    John BREWER
Spouse    William DEW
FHL Film Number    1041730
Reference ID    Pg 128 No 255

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QGQL-R27X

In 1861 this Elizabeth is in service in Wilcot, Wiltshire.  If you use Ancestry her surname is transcribed as PREINER, FamilySearch has DREWSON.   ::)

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7KH-82J

In 1871 William and Elizabeth DEW are in Southampton.

Piece 1190; Folio 55; Page number 11

FamilySearch don't seem to have that census.  George is aged 8 born Bath, Somerset, the next child is Henry aged 11 months.

DEW, HENRY  WILLIAM
Mother's maiden surname: BREWER
GRO Reference: 1870  J Quarter in SOUTHAMPTON  Volume 02C  Page 14

In 1881 and 1891 they are in South Stoneham and both William and Henry work for the railway.

Is it just William, Henry and Elizabeth on that 1881 and 91 census?

Interesting you say they worked on the railways, as George Allen Brewer was a signalman all his life. And his son (my gt grandad) worked as a Porter.

Could well be a link to the family you found.

Thankyou for finding this info for me. It's certainly something I can look into

Think I'll have to get ancestry again!

Have you checked out who was living at Brookleaze buildings Bath in 1861? Might give a clue to wether it was a home for unmarried mothers or a possible relative.
