Witness to wedding who was he
« on: Sunday 26 November 23 17:29 GMT (UK) »
I recently saw the online picture of the wedding of John Mee and Elizabeth Ayre which took place December 1816, one of the witnesses appears to be T.Lord,  fine this could be her maternal grandfather Thomas Lord except I thought he had died in 1802,cousins and uncles don't seem to fit, wrong death ? or unknown so far?

The 1802 burial was an adult
Address Bear & Dragon Yard

What was the occupation and year of birth of your Thomas?

There is a death in the papers of 1838 of Thomas Lord, 70th yr of age, smith & farrier.
At his house in parliament street
Upright & honest tradesman

That Thomas had a son in law John Anthony, Maltster.

Thank you for your interest, the two deaths you mentioned have set me on further exploration, unfortunately I don't know the occupation of my Thomas, the T. Lord that signed Elizabeth Ayre's marriage looks very like the signature on Thomas's daughter Jane . I am now going to revisit all my information and see if Sophia ( wife of John Anthony) fits in or whether I have some major revisiond to make
