Richard DOUGLAS - Seeking Baptism - Northumberland (1730-40 Period)
« on: Monday 27 November 23 02:14 GMT (UK) »
Seeking please a likely baptism entry for my ancestor, Richard DOUGLAS.

Richard was married to an Elizabeth CUTHBERT on 15th June, 1768 at Cornhill-on-Tweed, Northumberland. Elizabeth was born in this town in 1746.

I have seen an entry of birth of a DOUGLASS on 17th September, 1747 at Ford. The child was a male, however I do not know his first name.

Seeking any other likely options please in identifying Richard's birth/baptism in Northumberland? I know he may have been born in Scotland (so close) but not sure how to check this possibility?

For your advice, thanks..
Cheers,
Rob

That's interesting Neale, thanks. I could not see the actual entry as it is unavailable on familysearch.org. I will check if there are any likely entries of birth around that parish. Regards, Rob

I suppose the Ford entry in 1747 could fit as Ford is close to Lowick. Since familysearch.org does not show the first name of the child, is there any other way to identify his name? Curious. Rob

I could not find a Richard Douglas entry in Ford or Lowick baptism transcripts either C of E or Dissenters for 1740-1750.  I found 3 females and one male James.
