I think we're in for snow today LM according to the forecast.  When I woke up early, there was a very bright moon outside with a halo which I think can signify snow?  Thankfully, I am off today but I am going out anyway. It was pouring with rain and very cold on the way home from work last night.  Not many out on the buses.
I'm going to have a second cup of tea now with my breakfast . :)

Don't  wish  to bragg RTL  but it is a beautiful day here after yesterday's miserable day, very strong sun out this morning.

I went to London yesterday afternoon, wasn't going to go as it was such  a miserable wet day but although the pavements were very wet we were lucky enough not to have rain  after we arrived,  was a really nice time marred by the trains,  we had to change and travel the rest of the journey home by bus but I expect they can only work at some things after rush hour, so although I  had less than 5 hours sleep I feel remarkably bright today,  shan't last the day.

I suppose it is inevitable that snow might be round the corner, 2 early morning starts had minus 2 in the car , today I feel it is a cheerful day, the sun makes all the difference.

Enjoy your well earned day off.

Morning
RTL glad you’re having a day off - enjoy it. It’s sunny here today atm, but as we know that can change at the drop of a hat!
I saw the news last night saying that the gne buses have a recommended pay offer that’s gone to ballot ending Friday . I hope they accept and they can get back to normal, especially for you who rely on them so much. Folk have really been impacted by it.

Your journey RTL is very difficult ,I am amazed you can do it,and often late hours too.
A dry morning except for the dampness in the air .
Do you know I could not remember dryer or drier —— must look it up!

The quote fir fuel was jus a tad under what I pay to EDF, but I only wanted a quote for gas
and electricity ,I can see it would be cheaper to have the full package — broadband etc.
I am not very knowledgeable re those things and as my son is working here using my broadband I think it best to wait until he has that set up next door in his own house.

My friend is not attending her son’s funeral, even being driven by her younger son ,The journey to The Lake District from The Gower is an ordeal at almost 90 . She is not a fuss pot ,but how lonely she will be .
When I know the date and time I can arrange for flowers to be delivered to her.
Payback for - amongst many other things - the whole family seeing us ( my two little boys ,dog cat, hamster and budgie and me ) off at what was Ringway Airport, when going to live in Belgium) .
You don’t forget such kindnesses .

No news of my little friend ,I am hoping she is in hospital, as the symptoms she spoke to me about were alarming and needing surgery .

I can’t really do much for her but quite a few health visits etc myself ,have left me quite a bit to catch up with .
She wasn’t really able to leave her house ,given her problems so will have missed her weekly visits to a social centre for blind and partially sighted people. Also one to Age U K’ s social centre where she gets lots of help, they will be keeping an eye her,one very kind person especially.
If she does not go they will make a visit etc.
She was placed in a Centre for respite care and assessment but discharged herself after two days.
One daughter lives very close by but minimum contact ,the other much more helpful has recently moved to The Lake District., so a long journey especially in an emergency.
I can’t do much at the moment ,need to get myself sorted out first, am expecting a letter re the Echo heart scan, and what treatment if any is available ( got one yesterday telling me I had to attend for an echo scan on my heart on 22nd November! —- That was done last week!)
Never mind I am being looked after but I know should I get any intestinal infection that would alter the fluids and trace elements and drugs  in my system then I could be in serious trouble .
Very sadly my little friend is suffering from some serious intestinal condition with relevant incontinence .Did not know she could have “ convenience goods” delivered to her door ,her Dr should be seeing to all this or a Nurse service ,but that is for her daughter to organise.
I do hope things improve for her almost 90,alone,very little understanding of herself  and  her serious condition and so handicapped by poor sight and hearing.
Not right is it!

Well washer finished and  a sunny morning so I will chance them on the line .
Cheerio, look after yourselves everyone, with special thoughts for all those not well or with ill relatives .
Viktoria.

I did say I would report back on the LadBaby Christmas Dinner Pie!

Fairly standard Pukka Pie - 2 inches deep, 4 inches in circumference.
Made with chicken, rather than turkey.
No sprouts, thank goodness!
Very nice pie! I would buy again.
Cocktail sausage, carrots in a rich chicken gravy.

A very pleasant lunch!

Blue skies here, with white fluffy clouds.
Sun through my bay window is warming up my lounge.
Which is just as well as my central heating is on the blink!

Got my hospital appointment in Liverpool, in 2 weeks.
Just a consultation. Now waiting for my Patient Transfer flight details!

I know you've mentioned this kind of thing before, but it makes me wonder - if you live on the IOM, how do you manage if you don't like flying? (Or the Irish Sea) Or is it that if you're born there you grow up with it and don't mind, and for everyone else, if they don't like it they don't move there?

You can request a ferry sailing - not ideal this time of year!
I wasn't born in IOM - I'm a stopover!
Noble's Hospital (in Douglas) isn't huge, so for specialists we have agreements with hospitals in NW.
A few years ago I had kidney stones - had to go to Wythenshaw hospital.

But summer doesn't guarantee a smooth crossing either. (I expect there's a really graphic emoji somewhere that I could use to illustrate this, but it might be best left to the imagination :o)
