Where is she buried?
« on: Tuesday 28 November 23 09:30 GMT (UK) »
Where would a catholic baby be buried in 1889 if they lived in Terenure before they died.
The person is Elizabeth English, born Feb 1888 to parents Thomas and Mary English. She was baptised in St Joseph’s RC church in Terenure and died in 1889 when she was 11 months old. Her address on her death certificate was Dodd’s Row, Terenure. Trying to work out where she would be buried. Thanks

My first try would be Mount Jerome. Drop them a line. They're very nice and helpful. https://www.mountjerome.ie/contact-us/

If not buried in Mt Jerome, another option could  be Tallaght parish cemetery (St Maelruan's). Some of mine, who also lived in Terenure, are buried there.

For someone born Dublin city or suburbs I would always try the large cemeteries at Glasnevin and Deansgrange

It would be a little unusual for a Catholic to be buried in Mount Jerome this early

Mine were Catholic too. They must have allowed all denominations to be buried there. I hope you find her. Let us know how you get on.

I had a reply from Mount Jerome and there were no Catholic burials there before 1922. One ticked off the list!
