Brick wall - William Tayldor Burton
« on: Tuesday 28 November 23 10:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I have a brick wall. William was born in 1815 to Henry Burton and Elizabeth Tayldor in Falmouth. It's been many years since I asked for help on here and don't know how to link former threads.
I imagine he may have died as a baby or child, but can't find him. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

No, it's definitely Tayldor. It's cause a lot of confusion over the years due to the mother being called Taylor on her wedding and other records. Ive never found her birth or baptism either, but I'm sure it's Taylder (dor) because another child also had Tayldor as a middle name.

He was born 2.7.1815 & baptised 1.2.1816 at King Charles the Martyr Falmouth
www.freereg.org.uk

He could have dropped his middle name as an adult but I can't see any census entry that fits his profile

Were there other children?
Were they all baptised in Falmouth?
Have you traced them to see where they went?
Did William witness their weddings?

Are there any wills in which William could have been a named beneficiary?

Did William join the army or the navy? merchant navy?

Did William commit a crime? Could he have been transported?

Did William and/or the family emigrate? America, Canada, South Africa, India, Australia, New Zealand etc
