Just checked Prague Evangelical baptism records for 1857/58 and found nothing.

There are population lists here

You could try the register of domiciled persons which consists of lots of individual books in alphabetical order. I checked the Prague population register and there are a couple of Karl and Ludwigs or Adolfs but they don't seem to fit. Also no Schwarz cabinet maker in Prague directory 1878.

thanks for finding the error with his DOB. It was incorrectly based on his  immigration document.

The 1852 YOB might still be correct, but it shows that you need to throw the net a bit wider (maybe a 10 year width from 1849-1859…). This might also be valid for "Prague" as Carl might have meant the wider Prague area.

BTW Carl got married in the Church of England:
Parish register transcripts of St. George's Church of England, Perth:
1885 Marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJT-TCXQ?i=61

There is still a chance that he was a Catholic, but there is a bigger chance that his original religion was some sort of protestant flavour
