Patrick KELLY 68th Durham Light Infantry
« on: Sunday 03 December 23 02:36 GMT (UK) »
I am not connected to the family, but seeking assistance, if possible with the death details only of the following person:

Name: Private Patrick KELLY
68th Durham Light Infantry Regiment
Regimental No: 3264
Was at Gate Pa (Pukehinahina) New Zealand on 29 April 1864.  Awarded the NZ Medal
His name appears on the 68th Regiment Medal Roll of March 1869, Manchester
Born: 1836 Birr, near Dublin, Ireland.

I have been given the birth details by a fellow researcher [source: Ancestry/Service Record], but who does not know his death details.

The common name has made the search difficult.  Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
TPB

Per his army record he was born at Banagher which is near Birr but 90 miles from Dublin.

Has he been found in the Irish census for 1901 or 1911?

Army pension records show that he was still receiving his pension in Banagher in 1883. There are no later records online as yet as far as I'm aware.
