I was almost speechless  in the post office  one envelope with 2 cards inside cost me £2 and they were only small ones, I would have been better off sending 2 separate cards  would have saved myself 50p, I am not mean at all but I thought it was far to much, lesson learnt there.
.
Had my blood test, 3 attempts to get blood out of me and I said I wasn't mean, ha ha!!

Yes, it comes to something when postage costs more than what is being posted!
I send F.H and Kyra little gifts now and again, lat time £7-80 for  a £7 book some chalk pastels and three little books for Kyra.Total value ,£16-90 ,OK more than the postage but that was not tracked or it would have been much much more.
Just got my card box out ,I have kept a record for so many years now , here,Shropshire and Belgium.
Two years running with none in return and I don’t send again, not with postage so expensive.
I got some pretty cards from The British Heart Foundation shop and Sue Ryders’,but I found I had are a good number of unopened packages from last year .
I seem to remember the  charity shops here were ,after Christmas to make room, selling them off cheaply ,so as postage is so dear I bought a good few packs .
Well things to do and must get on
Son is off down to Head Office back Monday perhaps.
Yippee a weekend to get a lot done .

It seems as last week was so bad weather wise ,those like me who did not get to Church last Sunday can put their baubles on the tree this week.
This might only be useful for fairly regular attenders living closish , but word will get around.
Well this isn’t getting anything done ,so Cheerio, look after yourselves .
Viktoria.

The secret is to drink a pint of water 1 hour before blood test. ;)
I was told that some 20-odd years ago!

Must try that one - getting blood out of a Yorkshire woman seems to make getting blood from a stone seem easy!

Heavy rain again today.  Why is it always bad on shopping days? We drove through deep puddles on our outward journey, so
so took a different route on our way home.  I was glad that we had plenty of home made soup to warm us up on our return.

Tried to order some perfume tonight, online.
Can't be done, because they won't deliver to Isle of Man?!

Couldn't get it through Liverpool or Bristol airports, or Amazon.

Eventually managed to order for delivery to daughter #2; but paid for using my IOM address.

Quite a bit of “ Lancs vYorks “ rivalry.
Lancashire—-“ Come in love, will you stop for a bit of tea with us?”
Yorkshire——“ Come in love ,you’ll have had your tea, won’t you”.

I don’t really mean that ,Yorkshire High Tea,whew, soooo much on the table, meats, cheeses, scones ,cakes ,a real feast and home made too.
However,I do not like Wensleydale cheese !
lThe Yorkshire  custom of having Yorkshire Pudding with gravy before the meat and veges is said to be so people eat less meat —-.
Yorkshire people are thrifty, nowt wrong with that,we could do with more
thrift.

A beautiful county, on our way down South last Christmas there was a big diversion and we saw such amazing countryside ,including the field where people in white boiler suits lay down on the hillside to form the words
“ SEE YA COMPO” when Bill Owen died and so then of course did Compo in the amazing comedy, “ Last  of the Summer Wine”.
Compo’s funeral cortège passed that way .

Well I am awake and can’t get back to sleep.
Had a chat with a cousin yesterday evening ,who gave me a reference and I found a photograph on a site,of my mother’s sister  as a young girl then another as a married woman with her little boy.
I have never seen them before ,she looks like my Mum.
Sent them to my sister who isn’t really interested .
Well ,must put out the bedside lamp and try to sleep.
Viktoria.
