Never mind the costs - shouldn't it be the thought that counts  :-\  :-X

Yes B B,  I do agree BUT, unfortunately  some folks can't afford the  stamps at the price they are, it would be a good idea if the PO  were to bring  out a special stamp only to be  used at Christmas at a reduced price, can't see it happening  to  be honest, I can't get and  haven't seen a Christmas stamp this year.

I agree that the cost has risen, but there again so has everything else, with the possible exception of pensions - my last increase was 25p a week. :o  You're not exactly missing too much by not seeing the special stamps - I have got a couple of books of 2nd class.

Seemingly ,to add insult to injury, the P.O . are  giving preference to parcels and not the less lucrative mail ,cards and letters so letters including medical appt etc are  on the back  shelf!

Church was pretty full this morning ,mince pies and coffee after.

Many must have had to miss last week as I did ,due to heavy snow so we put our baubles on the tree this week.

I felt I had to apologise to one lady who has fairly recently lost her son ,I mentioned my son living with me temporarily , made a joke re I was not allowing him to have a hole in the wall from his house, ,then remembered —- so after the service I apologised for  my thoughtlessness .
She was very kind and knew I had not done anything than be a bit forgetful.

No messages from son re when he will be home ,so a quick meal.

Salmon tagliatelle .
——————————
1 pack of smoked salmon slices,, torn in to small  pieces, dry fried to just opaque .
Tagliatelle for  two cooked to preference re al dente or not.
Add salmon to drained pasta with drained sliced olives , black pepper ,and single cream .
Warm through gently.
Serve with crusty baguette and  wild rocket or watercress.
Ready in 20 minutes.

I think that is a good idea, L.M
Hope everyone is well and safe and warm over Christmas, but others not so fortunate deserve to be in our thoughts.

Flash Harry is getting money conscious ,has £8 in the school bank.
His auntie’s fiancée said “ WOW! That is more than I have!
F,H firmly believes that so I will take  down my vast horde of small change and he will count that and bank it ,probably exchange it at a bank for notes!

Watched some of “ Some Like It Hot” yesterday, I could swear it was in colour the first time!
Not so funny either ,but Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis teetering in high heels along the platform at the station  ;D Then J.L.to T.C.when he was grabbed aggressively
—— “OW! You have pulled off one of my chests!”

Well a cup of tea then some more work ,cheerio folks.
Viktoria.

Not sure that this will work.  Back in time, when we lived in Cheadle Hulme, this item was delivered to everyone, related to comparing food prices.  This is just part of the page!

Oh, Viktoria, thank you for the smoke salmon idea.  OH doesn't like it, so we don't have it at home BUT just remembered that our daughter always has a side of it for Christmas - yesssssssssssssssss!  At last something else to look forward to as I understand that the main course will be goose, rather than the dreaded turkey.  I might start eating again!
