Well, not one to panic but never having been in such a worrying situation I might if I were.
Young girl stranded like that is a worry, sorry L.M, your grand daughter did her amazing journey you kept us up to date with and now this in a supposedly modern country!
High speed rail—— fiddlesticks!
It would have been / is , another line to have services axed etc.
I truly hope it works out for  her .
There used to be a service whereby you could claim for delays and cancellations ,when you finally arrived at your destination.
Don’t suppose it still exists.

Let us know when your granddaughter has safely arrived L.M.
We have been with her in a way on her exciting journey you described for us.
Viktoria.

My grandaughter did think outside the box, I think she bought a ticket to go north then come down  south again, she has bought 2 tickets she couldn't use, whether she will  get a refund or not remains  to be  seen, I had a running commentary almost  but my daughter has gone home, at the moment all I know is she is on her way to London, think that was about 7 ish, not heard anymore.
Yes Viktoria, our grandaughter spent 6 months roaming in Asia but I never heard her say she was delayed anywhere.
Thank you all for your concern

OH gets a refund when his train/s are delayed or cancelled.  Only travelling to London for football!!!!  :-X

Louisa, by exciting journey I meant her trip abroad, not this present problematic journey.
I might have mixed things up for you by not being quite clear.
Hope you sleep tonight after such a worry.
Viktoria.

This may be of some consolation.
If she had a ticket from hull to London she should claim delay replay for that ticket, as the delay was
more than an hour she should get a full refund. Claim from the train operator she commenced her journey with.

Any tickets she bought but did not use she should claim refund from the retailer of that ticket.

Incidentally, in the event of this disruption, caused I think by a piece of roofing felt from a garden shed being blown on to the overhead cables, the original hull to London ticket should have been accepted by any train operating company on any reasonable alternative travel to London.

Thank you Mike, I will pass this info on to my grandaughter, i know she spent a lot trying to get on other trains, I hope the passengers get something back but what a shamd if it was,    as I read, garden debris being thrown  about by the wind.

So glad,L.M.Not nice young women out at night with no surety re what best to do etc.
What a shambles the trains are in,bring back BR!
I love train travel but not these days ,could go out and about on my own to join children on holidays etc,but not now everything is so messed up.

By the way ,are we in a new week, ?
Not found it yet.
Had a big clean up today ,just stairs and landing to do ..

My son here is working at home so not really free to spend a fair amount of time from the computers to get me to my eye appointment on Thursday ,so I have got transport booked.
Either of my sons would take me but there are hours of waiting and a fair journey if they leave then have to get back to pick me up.
Lots of drops in the various departments mean I really can not see well to negotiate traffic etc.

Well a blustery day and the wind getting up again .
Spoke with my friend whose son died so suddenly, her daughter in law is not keeping in touch ,so no idea re flowers or time or even date.
She is not going , will be 89 or 90 in March, but does not seem it to an observer but the usual difficulties re knees, hips ,tiredness etc .
It is in The Lake District.
I would like to send flowers to her ,but will wait to see the date.

Well might just get the tiny little landing done ,in my old house it was like a room ,we had furniture on it !

Cheerio. Look after yourselves.
Viktoria.
