This is a very distant branch of my family tree but I have never come across such an impenetrable brick wall so am wondering if anyone more inspired than I can help.
My relative is Harriet Clarke. She was born at Kenton Street in Bloomsbury, London. She lived at home with her parents up to the 1891 census, then married Ernest Victor Bickerdike at the Emmanuel church in Hastings on 26.3.94. He was a bootmaker, of Hughenden Place in Hastings, but no subsequent records have been found for either of them.
In fact, I can't find any record at all of Ernest Victor Bickerdike, other than on their marriage record where his equally anonymous father has the same name. Thereafter no Harriet Bickerdike either. I've looked at Ancestry, Familysearch, Findmypast and Freebmd - even Googled them but all without success.
All very frustrating for a completer/finisher. Does this ring bells with anyone? I was going to post this under Sussex, but almost all Bickerdikes are in Yorkshire so that might be equally relevant.
