Copying a source on Ancestry
« on: Tuesday 05 December 23 18:53 GMT (UK) »
On Ancestry, I have created a marriage fact, along with a source and citation. Whilst the marriage fact copies over from the groom to the bride, the source and citation does not. When looking at the marriage fact for the bride, it appears unsourced.
Is there any way to copy the source and citation from the groom to the bride, rather than having to enter the information again?
Thanks in advance.

I’ve just added a marriage and the source was copied to both.

Did you tick the boxes in the right hand window?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean when you ask about boxes in the right hand window. I don't have any boxes to tick when I create a marriage. This is the screen I get.

Oh I see, you are completely manually adding.
I was referring to what happens if you find the event on ancestry and then add it

Thanks.
At least I'm not missing something completely obvious!

If you write in the “description’ field. That goes to both parties. So you could put a note there.
