Probate date 1615
« on: Wednesday 06 December 23 08:54 GMT (UK) »
At the bottom of the will of Nicholas Symons is appended details of the probate, which is impossible for me to read - is it Latin or have I just completely lost the plot?
I'd be really grateful if someone could summarise any useful information contained in this part of the will. It seems to me that probate was granted in January 1615.
Thanks very much.
This part of the will is much fainter than the rest, I assume the ink used was different and has faded more. Apologies for the quality of the image but it's the best I have.

It is Latin.

I can't make out every word but I can read enough to say it's a straightforward award of probate.

Probate was granted on 15 January 1615.  Commission was to the executrix (executrici) named in the testament.

I agreed with horselydown86 that the date is 15 January 1615. But it is qualified immediately afterwards by the words stil(o) Angl(ico) (= 'in the English style"), so it would be 1616 in the modern calendar.

Thank you for the replies. The transcription is useful, and pretty much ties in with what I have.
