Query - Is there a South Australia Marriage Index?

I am searching for a Marriage that might have happened in Adelaide. The Groom was James William KENDALL (or might have been James KENDALL or William KENDALL) - he was my 2xGrGrandfather and this was his 2nd marriage - and the Bride is only known as Mary. The were back in London for the 1911 census and stated that they had been married for 30 years (1881). She was born in Adelaide and they returned to the UK in 1897 as Mr and Mrs KANDELL (KENDALL) from Adelaide. He was an Upholsterer.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Apologies, SS, but your reply is a bit cryptic.  Are you saying that there was an index but it's been deleted?

Is there any evidence that after John William and Ruth Elizabeth parted ways that they divorced. Ruth is back in the UK for 1881 census onwards.

Mary *** would only have been aged 16/17 if they married c1881.

They are also on the 1901 Census in Chertsey, Surrey.
