Hello Haines. thanks for you responses With regard to George Williams died  1976 Killed by a kick fom a horse, he was born in 1852 the same year as George Williams who died 1896.

i have tried searching for George Williams born 1852 died 1876 on the 1871 census with the help of another cousin but no joy at the moment. He was a servant on the farm when killed and would have been aged about 24 years old.

Every thing points to George Williams who died in 1896 as being my true relative. but i need to eliminate George Williams who died 1876.
Thanks for you help

Thanks for confirming the years of birth of the 2 Georges.

This looks a possible baptism for "your" George who died 1896.
FindMyPast baptisms (image/transcript)
Parish of Blaenavon
18 Mar 1855, George and Mary, children of George and Mary Ann Williams, abode Blaenavon Llan ?, father's occpn. miner.

The George, died 1876, is difficult to track. No real clues in newspaper reports. His occpn is "waggoner" in the report. No widow/children mentioned so looking for a single man? No clues to parentage or where born.

Have you found "your" George in '61.

Do you have "your" George's marriage cert? A George Williams married Dec Qtr, Abergavenny - on the same page is a Sarah Ann Wilkins. Some Monmouthshire marr. certs are on line but not this one.

"Your" George's 1st born appears to be Isaac George, 5 mths old on the '81 Census. The birth of an Isaac George Williams was registered Abergavenny, Dec Qtr 1880 - mother's maiden name Wilkins.

Only just checked the 1871 Census - it has George Williams, age 19, haulier, born Clodock? Herefordshire.
The 1881 Census at Long Rank has "Blaenavon" as place of birth?

Hello Haines. thanks for your time and help. The census  does say the George who died in 1896 was born in Clodock but the other census' indicate he was born in Blaenafon. His mother was mary Ann (Powell) Williams was certainly born in Clodock.
i have checked the parish records for Clodock but have been unable to find a birth for George in 1852 at Clodock.. The George who died in 1876 still remains a mystery.
ypur help very much appreciated.
Thank you.
