Hello 

Does anyone have any experience of finding inmate/inpatient records for the above please?  I have a distant relative who was accepted into the almshouse for the last ten years of his life c1880 and I'd like to know more.  I think LMA hold the historical records but they are extensive so if anyone has already dipped a toe any tips/suggestions would be very helpful.  Thank you.

If you’re looking for personal details on admission, this is probably the volume you will need to search at LMA …

Includes age, by whom admitted and date of death.

The other main series of pensioners’ records is too early for you (up to mid 1850s only).

You will either need to go in person, or engage someone to go on your behalf, or use LMA’s research service. As the volume is indexed, it shouldn’t take too long.
