William Martin Skews BIRD

I have been able to trace him on the census up to his death in 1895. His occupation was a Chair Maker  and he was in the Shoreditch area. At one point he was employing 8 men and 4 boys but I cannot find anything about his business. I am having trouble finding birth/baptism records for some of his children as well so perhaps he was one of those who kept a low profile. Any pointers would be appreciated.

You are asking for info re his children’s baptisms but have given no details from census info of their names or birthyears/birthplaces

Where is he in 1891?

You give no birthyear or birthplace for WMS Bird either or any details of marriage.  His death reg shows he was 81 so presumably b around 1814

Born Falmouth - Married Elizabeth Bennett 1834 & Sarah Jane Price 1840 so you can track the children via freebmd or using FS to look for baptisms

Think I found 9 birth's, 1 pre 1837 baptism, 4/5 GRO registrations.

Yes - they are all easily found & mickawinn says he has all census info up to 1895 death so has names & birthyears

Thanks for the response. My post was really to try to find out more about his chair making business.

However the children I have found birth/baptism records for are Randolph, 1843, Falmouth, Amelia 1847 Shoreditch and Alice 1859 Shoreditch. The others are Elizabeth c1834 Falmouth (mother Elizabeth Bennett), Sabrina c1837 Falmouth, Sarah c1845 Shoreditch, Jane c1850 Shoreditch, Caroline c1852 Hoxton and Harriett c1856 Hoxton.
