I've been searching contemporary London directories for his business address and finally found it in 1884: 1 Stean Street

We are on a look-up board so I can't attach an image but he is listed in "Chair and Sofa Makers" with addresses 8 Mansfield Cottages, Dunston Street (his home address per the censuses) and 1 Stean Street.

Checking the 1880 directory for Stean Street, he is listed there as a cabinet maker. Same in 1882.
