The above was my 11th cousin, 2R! He was the son of Leslie Walter Clift Martin and Annie Harrison Cordery, at 1939 he was living in Yeovil but must have migrated to NZ as I found the death of his wife Evelyn Mary 9 Aug 1977 buried 11 Aug at Waipukurau Cemetery.
I know nothing about her or their marriage?

A Service of Remembrance for Ron will be held at the Manukau Memorial Gardens Chapel, 357 Puhinui Road, Papatoetoe on Wednesday September 18, at 12.30pm followed by burial in Returned Services Lawn Cemetery. Curious use of 'de Winton' as a middle name.  A possible source of the name could be from the Montgomery family, the Earls of Eglinton, Kilwinning.
From marriages etc! the Montgomeries acquired the titles of the Seton family, and Winton / Wyntoun and from sketchy memory details I believe Seton & Winton are of Norman origin but connected with the Edinburgh area although the principal family resided at Eglyntoun / Eglinton Castle between Kilwinning and Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland.
The ' Egli ' represents an Eagle and one of the Earls built the village of Eaglesham and Ardrossan, which has Eglinton, Winton & Seton Streets.
My early schooling was at Winton Primary then Eglinton Secondary before Ardrossan Academy.

Thank you very much mckha489 for your excellent research. I've emailed the Funeral directors regarding Ronald's death to find out more if possible.
As to the nobility Ian, I'm not that interested as Ronald was my 11th cousin related to the Waymark's et al of the 1600s.
