Thank you everyone for all the information.

The Catherine that I have  baptism was Nov. 27. 1870 Cambridge, Mass.  not  Ireland

Mary & John were married  Aug. 6, 1865 Cambridge,

Depends what information the informant had when they reported the death. Not unusual for details to get distorted.  The death certificate does have the correct names of the parents 
Having said that there was a John Sullivan and Mary Dempsey in Cork between 1860 - 1870, although I never saw a birth for a Catherine for that couple.

I phoned Holyhood Cemetery & they want a fee to do genealogy look ups.

I think I found Catherine on the 1880 census for Mass.  with a Bridget Leavett Born abt. 1822 Ireland, widow  as an adopted  daughter. I can't find any more info.. on Catherine.
Have no idea how Bridget is connected to the Sullivan family or how she has Catherine.

Adams is a bit of a distance from Cambridge but posting the details as there could have been two families (in Massachusetts) with similar details.

John Sullivan, died 5 January 1894.  Born 1835. Parents: Michael and Hannah. Civil War veteran.  Buried Tewksbury State Hospital, Tewksbury, MA.
