Merry Christmas. Here is to 2024. 2023 has been a good year for me for my Suffolk lot. Many 1650-1753 baptism CD's for my ancestral Suffolk areas have been released, and it has given me several new candidates to work on, as well as broken down some brickwalls. Also I found out the lack of a marriage for a couple was due to the wife being married before, and to cap it all, a direct ancestor sent from Suffolk to Australia in 1791. Since then it has made me realise that a couple of days travelling 50 miles from say, Norwich to Sudbury on horse and cart in 1791 was nothing in comparison, and was easy compared to a 7 month journey 11000 miles.
2024 is 20 years since I joined RC and my first query was about my Sussex ancestors in the 1841 and 1851 censuses.
