Well thank you, that is all I could think of too. I'm fairly sure it should actually be "brother"!

I agree and since the older brother was a groom and Joseph was an unemployed groom according to this census I suppose he was lodging with his brother hoping there might be work in the neighbourhood, or with his brother's employer.
