George Wilson and Margaret Henderson

I am struggling to find anything about the Irish origin of this pair.
I have found George Wilson on the 1891 Scottish census which shows him to have been born in Londonderry, and then the place looks like Auchadoo. Could the enumerator have got it wrong? He would have been born about 1835, 36.
He married a Margaret Henderson who was also born in Ireland about 1840,41.
Both of them appear to have come over to Scotland in the 1850s, but I can find no trace of a marriage. Did they come back to Ireland to get married? I also cannot find a death certificate - Margaret Wilson nee Henderson appears on the 1871 Scottish census but not on the 1881 census, and she is marked as deceased when her daughter marries in 1884. Again would she have gone back to Ireland.
I would love to get some more information on these two who are very elusive, especially as I am in the area just now, but don’t really know where to look.

Possibly Aghadowey Parish in County Londonderry?
Were any of the children born in Scotland during years when date and place of parents' marriage are recorded on birth certificates?
Civil registration of deaths in Ireland started in 1864 as did registration of births and Catholic marriages (from 1845 for all non-Catholic marriages).

Added- can't see marriage in Ireland.

Think I have found him now on the 1891 census

George Wilson age 57 born Auchadoo Londonderry ( transcribed Ancestry ) he is at
100 Blackburn Street Plantation Govan occupation stoker on steamship unemployed
With a new wife Elizabeth Wilson born Galston Ayrshire age 56 years

Interesting, Rosie. If marriage to Elizabeth can be found in Scotland should list names of both his parents which might make it possible for me to find his family here in County Derry in my files.

There is a birth for a Margaret Wilson 1869 Anderston
Mothers maiden name Henderson
On Scotland's People getting the birth certificate should give you the parents marriage date

There is a marriage for a George Wilson to a Elizabeth Allan 1881 Gorbals might be a possibility

Decided since there's possibly an Aghadowey connection I would get the 1869 birth certificate for Margaret Wilson from Scotland's People.

Parents George Wilson and Margaret Henderson married 12 Nov.1858 Aghadowy, Londonderry, Ireland!
